Anyone can put a coat on a slab. A floor that still looks right in five years comes from what happens before that: the old glue off, the levels right, the cut taken through every grit instead of skipping to the end. That is the part Kyle will not rush.

What is the difference between polished concrete and grind and seal?
A polished floor is cut back mechanically through a run of grits until the surface itself is dense and reflective. Grind and seal takes a lighter cut to open up the stone, then relies on a coating for the shine and the protection. Polished costs more and lasts longer under traffic. Grind and seal suits garages, alfrescos and budgets that need to land somewhere sensible. Kyle will tell you which one your slab actually suits.
Can you polish the slab that is already there?
Often, yes. It depends on how the slab was poured, how flat it is, what the aggregate looks like underneath and what is currently stuck to it. That is exactly why the quote happens on site rather than over the phone. You will get a straight answer either way, including if the honest answer is that a coating suits it better.
Do you take up old tiles, carpet and glue?
Yes. Glue and tile removal is one of the six things Evolve does, and it is usually the first step on a renovation. The old covering comes off, the residue gets ground away and the slab is prepped before any finish is discussed.
Is polished concrete slippery?
A high-gloss internal floor is smooth by design, which is why anti-slip flooring is offered as its own finish for the areas where that matters, like pool surrounds, entries and wet areas. Tell Kyle where the floor is going and he will match the finish to it.
